Mojaves Hatching

Filed under: TSK — Dan @ 11:16 am

Check the ball cam for Mojaves hatching on the ball. These two are available so far. I know it is hard to tell when you can only see the head in the picture but there are two mojaves in there. More updates to come on what is hatching here at The Snake Keeper.

San Diego show

Filed under: TSK — Dan @ 11:15 am

Coming home from a show is always a ton of work. We got home Sunday night at 9:30 only to have it be 89 degrees outside still. Leaving the San Diego show on the beach and heading to the desert is not much fun. I took a few photos while at the water front. We went out to dinner on the beach and two carriers were at port. One of them was the USS MIDWAY.

USS MIDWAY

Too many trees and the ship was so big out of all the pics I took this one was the best. The other shot is one across the bay but you could see the whole thing. Impressive to say the least.

Carrier…..WOW!

After getting home we put all the snakes away so they could relax and get some water. Peaked in the incubator and saw some spider lings poking out of the egg. You have to love see spider ball heads.

We had a good time at the show. Not too many people attended the show. July is always slow as not too many people out here have snakes hatched out to sell yet. We only had about 20 snakes as we are still waiting for our eggs to hatch. We did have a little display of snakes on the table. Here is a pic of it.

Ivory, Snow, Hypo Mojave & Lavender Albino.

We had a Hypo Mojave, Lavender Albino, Snow & the Ivory all in the same display. Good thing one had black eyes and the other one red eyes or no one would have figured out which white snake was what. The snow has really matured into just what everyone wanted a nice “snow” ball python.

Any ways not much more went on in San Diego. It was nice seeing everyone we know down there. Actually were wondering where the regulars were, you know the people you see every time. There were several people who just did not make due to work or what ever. Well we missed seeing you and look forward to seeing you next time.

Bumble bees

Filed under: TSK — Dan @ 11:53 pm

Some good things happening here at The Snake Keeper. Our Bumble Bee shed and just looks fantastic.

The Bumble Bee
We are real pleased with how she turned out and looking forward to the day we hatch out some more. Another thing that happened that has been a long project is we proved out an albino possible het axanthic. Remember when we hatched out our snow ball? Well with it there was an albino which we hoped was het axanthic as well. Well this year we bred the male to our axanthics and we produced axanthics. So now we just hatched out axanthics that are het albino. That will cut down these 1/16 odds of producing snows. So out of that clutch we produced axanthic het albinos & double het axanthic x albinos.

So it was really nice to get that male proved out this year. Now he will be our new stud for the snow project. I will have to get new pics of the snow for you soon. She is just awesome looking.

That is about all the exciting news right now from here on hatchings. Should have some more cool things in a couple weeks. Looking forward to seeing all the cool snakes to be produced by everyone this season. I hear there’s another one that just hatched that should be interesting. Can not wait to see pics of it.
